Blue Mist Wellbeing Retreats is the culmination of a 6-year dream coming to fruition. Conveniently nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Dandenong Ranges (just 45 minutes from Melbourne‘s CBD), an original 2-bedroom Hills Cottage in a lush garden setting is currently being transformed into a tranquil, character-filled restorative space. This retreat is designed specifically for women experiencing chronic illness support, allowing them to disconnect from daily struggles in a nurturing environment that harmonizes with nature, where they can be guided to relax and unwind through practices like breathwork, meditation, and yoga retreats.
While we understand that your chronic illness follows you everywhere, we have created this retreat to offer more than just a temporary break from symptoms. Our goal is for you to leave feeling rejuvenated and empowered, equipped with skills learned during your stay that will help you listen to your body and activate its restorative power.
Our journey began in 2019, when founder Dr. Alicia Tye-Smith (Osteopath) faced debilitating health challenges, including sudden onset paralyzing migraines. This traumatic experience triggered a series of illnesses, such as POTS syndrome, functional neurological disorder (dissociative seizures FND), persistent postural perceptual dizziness (balance disorder PPPD), chronic pain, chronic fatigue, social anxiety, and PTSD symptoms, often stemming from a lack of understanding by medical specialists.
“After an intense and debilitating journey since 2019, supported by some amazing people, I feel grateful to now have a handle on my new way of life. I deeply understand the challenges faced by this long-suffering group of incredible women living with silent chronic illness. Through Blue Mist Retreats, I am passionate about helping as many of you as I can, taking care of your parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn will take care of you,” says Dr. Alicia Tye-Smith. I look forward to connecting with all of you 💜
